My name is Joe Kinsella, and I am one of the new and improved co-op students at Enable TC. I live in Burlington, Ontario, and I am a student of The University of Waterloo and am Mechatronics Engineering. I have just finished my first term with a healthy appreciation for how difficult school actually gets after high school finishes. I am one of 5 students here at Enable that are from the exact same class, it’s practically like I never left school. I didn’t expect to get such a good job on my very first co-op term so Enable was an awesome surprise.

My background is mostly in programming in traditional languages like C++, Java, Python and even a little bit of Turing, so I am going to have an interesting time learning LabVIEW. It’s so different from other programming languages that I’m basically starting from scratch. As a first year I don’t have tons of experience under my belt, however I am eager to learn and I know that Enable will be a great place to learn new skills and improve as a student and future professional.

After starting university, it seems like I haven’t had any free time at all, however when I do happen to have some I have a lot of ways to spend it. I have a few interesting hobbies- at least I consider them interesting- such as juggling and unicycling. If I ever decide not to be an engineer, at least I could be a clown.
