In high school, I was part of the Specialist High Skills Major program for Manufacturing, which was very heavily involved in my schools First Robotics team, Team 843. I joined the FRC team in grade 11 as the programmer and was introduced to LabVIEW for the first time.

That’s when I met Ben Zimmer, who had decided to help our team as a programming mentor. The challenge of learning and becoming proficient with LabVIEW was made easy by the training material within LVmastery. I spent some of my free time in the 2 months before the competition season watching videos and playing around with this amazing new software and before I knew it, I was programming a robot and implementing advanced techniques.

The SHSM program, which I was part of, required me to have a CO-OP which I ended up doing at Enable Training and Consulting. After the CO-OP term was over, I was employed and finished the summer at Enable Training and Consulting Inc. Since then I’ve been working at Enable, and have gone back to the robotics team with even more to contribute. In the future, I plan to return to the FRC team as a mentor.
